Mountains Climbed

A couple of months ago I received an email from Laura, a volunteer representing Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington, the nonprofit that grants wishes to children with critical illnesses.  She was looking for a photography session for little Hailey.  Hailey recently conquered cancer and was about to embark on her wish to gon a dream vacation to Disneyland.  It would kick off with a fairy tale princess a photography session.

I closed my studio a couple of years ago, but I am still working on my fairy tale digital download business (this website).  But this was something I had to do.  I called a few friends, Sparrow Portraits to borrow a snow backdrop and Elaine Turso to use her studio.  I didn’t want to chance the weather taking a turn for the worse for little Hailey.

The photo session day came and Hailey arrived, surrounded by parents and grandparents who love her dearly.   Laura provided the dress and crown and Hailey quickly got dressed.

She was happy to get her picture taken and strike the poses of her own creation. I worked with her and managed to get a good number of pictures.  We ended up with more fairy pictures than princess pictures as a result, and they turned out great.

Here are some of my favorites.

This one shows the little michevious side.  It makes me laugh every time I see it.

But I was able to get a good smile.

This one also shows what a little tease she was.  Just keep you eye on this one, don’t turn away or she might hit you with that magical snowball.  😀 . I seriously love this picture.

Got the best Elsa poses I could get from her, she did pretty good, didn’t she?

Got some great fairy portraits!  I love moss.  Love.

Dancing fairy!  Love lily pads too.

A fairy on a mushroom is a must to include in any session.

The last one was just of her.  No detractions.  Just her.  Love.

Hailey and family, I wish you the best from the bottom of my heart!  I’m sure you had a fabulous experience that you will never forget!  I was honored to be a part of it.
